Commercial Coach — a marketing & commercial partner on tap, for as long as you need one.
Sprints and one-off tools solve a specific problem. Some businesses need something different — a person who already knows the business, on hand regularly to troubleshoot whatever the week throws up, commercially and across marketing.
Built for businesses past the first sprint
Scaling Businesses
Past the startup phase, growing fast enough that new problems appear faster than one person can solve them alone.
Businesses Without a Marketing Lead
Making marketing decisions ad hoc, without anyone senior enough to own strategy day to day.
Businesses Mid-Change
Repositioning, relaunching, or restructuring, and needing steady outside input while things are in motion.
Founders Wanting a Sounding Board
Making commercial and marketing calls alone, and wanting someone experienced to stress-test decisions with.
Two ways to work together
Whichever fits how the business needs support right now — nothing stops you moving from one to the other later.
Project Basis
For a specific commercial or marketing problem with a clear start and end — priced and timed around what the project actually needs, not a fixed monthly figure.
- Defined problem, defined solution
- Duration agreed upfront, not open-ended
- Cost quoted against scope, before work begins
- No ongoing commitment once it's delivered
Monthly Retainer
Regular, dependable time built into the business to troubleshoot whatever comes up — commercially and across the marketing function — rather than waiting for a problem to become urgent.
- 5 days a month, split across the business as needed
- Hybrid — on-site and remote, whichever suits the week
- Covers commercial & marketing challenges, not just one
- Priorities reviewed monthly, not fixed in a rigid brief
Questions worth asking
How do the 5 days a month actually get used?
Priorities are set together at the start of each month, based on what's live in the business at the time — some months lean commercial, some months lean marketing.
What if 5 days isn't enough in a particular month?
That's flagged as soon as it's clear, and any extra time is scoped and costed separately — the retainer never expands automatically without agreement.
How is project basis pricing worked out?
By the solution required and how long it will realistically take — a quote is agreed with you before any work begins, in the same way as the Growth Sprint and AI Speed.
Can I start with a project and move to a retainer later?
Yes — plenty of ongoing relationships start as a single scoped project, then move to a retainer once it's clear there's regular value in keeping the support in place.
Is there a minimum commitment on the retainer?
No — it runs monthly with no fixed term, so either side can step away with reasonable notice rather than being tied into a long contract.
